Short Summary
TinyQR decodes QR codes locally on your Android device. It does not collect or transmit personal data, use advertising or analytics, or request Internet access.
1. Data Collection
TinyQR does not collect or transmit personal data.
The application does not use:
- analytics
- advertising
- tracking technologies
- user accounts
- cloud storage
- remote servers
- crash-reporting SDKs
TinyQR does not request Internet access.
2. Camera
TinyQR requires access to the device camera because scanning QR codes is the primary function of the application.
Camera frames are processed locally on the device to detect and decode QR codes. Camera images are not uploaded to a server and are not intentionally stored by TinyQR.
3. QR Code Contents
Decoded QR code contents are processed locally on the device. TinyQR does not transmit QR code contents to the developer or to third parties.
Scan results are held temporarily while they are displayed in the application. TinyQR does not maintain a scan history or cloud database.
4. Clipboard
When the user explicitly selects the Copy action, TinyQR writes the decoded QR text to the Android system clipboard.
TinyQR does not read or monitor the user's clipboard. After content has been copied, retention of that content by the system clipboard is controlled by Android and the user's device, not by TinyQR.
5. Internet and Third Parties
TinyQR does not request the Android Internet permission and does not communicate with TinyQR servers.
QR decoding is performed locally using the open-source quirc QR decoding library. No scanned content is sent to quirc or any external service.
6. Data Sharing
TinyQR does not sell, share, or transfer personal data to advertisers or other third parties.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
TinyQR does not operate user accounts or maintain a remote database containing user data. Temporary scan information is held only as necessary for the current scanning session.
Users can remove application data by closing or uninstalling TinyQR. Content explicitly copied to the Android clipboard is managed separately by the Android operating system.
8. Website
This privacy policy and the TinyQR website may be hosted by a third-party hosting provider. The hosting provider may process ordinary technical web request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, or server logs, as necessary to provide the website.
This information is separate from the TinyQR Android application's QR scanning functionality.
